Net Salary Simulator

Pay mode

How it works

Three steps, no account required. The calculation runs on the server and is then displayed line by line.

  1. Step 1

    Enter the pay

Enter a monthly gross salary, or switch to hourly mode to combine an hourly rate with a number of hours per month (151.67 h for a full-time 35-hour week).

  2. Step 2

    Add the context

Contract type (CDI or CDD), company size and whether a public-transport pass is reimbursed: these settings change the FNAL levy, the vocational training contribution and the CPF-CDD contribution.

  3. Step 3

    Read the breakdown

You get the net salary before income tax, the total employee contributions, the employer URSSAF and AGIRC-ARRCO contributions in detail, then the total employer cost.

Rates taken from the schedules published by URSSAF and by AGIRC-ARRCO (AG2R La Mondiale). For the general regulations, see service-public.fr.

The French Social Security ceiling (PASS) in 2026

The ceiling does not cap the salary: it is the calculation base for part of the contributions and draws the line between band 1 and band 2. How the mechanism works and what it does at the threshold.

Permanent vs fixed-term contracts: the differences

At the same gross salary, a fixed-term and a permanent contract do not cost the employer the same. The gaps are narrower than people assume and centre on the CPF-CDD contribution and the end-of-contract premium.

Frequently asked questions

Gross, net, the social security ceiling, employer cost: answers to the questions we are asked most about our simulators.

Is the simulator free?
Yes. Remunio is freely available, with no sign-up or account, and no limit on the number of simulations. The site is funded by advertising.
What is the difference between gross and net salary?
The gross salary is the agreed pay before employee social contributions are deducted (old-age insurance, CSG, CRDS, supplementary pension, etc.). The net salary before income tax is the gross amount less those contributions. The net amount actually paid then also reflects income tax withheld at source and, where applicable, the company health insurance scheme.
Is the net figure before or after income tax?
Before income tax. The simulator stops at the "net salary before taxes": withholding at source depends on the personalised rate the tax authorities send to the employer, so it is not simulated here.
Why does the result differ from my payslip?
Several items specific to each employer are not simulated: the work-accident rate (AT/MP), set here at an indicative 3.88% although it depends on the company's activity and claims history; company health insurance and income protection; overtime, bonuses and benefits in kind; specific exemptions or reductions. The gap is usually small, but the result should be read as an estimate.
What is the social security ceiling?
The monthly social security ceiling (PMSS) is the calculation base for several contributions. Our simulations use โ‚ฌ4,005 per month. The portion of pay below the ceiling is band 1 (tranche 1); the portion above belongs to band 2 (tranche 2), which carries higher supplementary pension rates.
How is the total employer cost calculated?
The total employer cost adds up the gross salary, the employer URSSAF contributions (health insurance, capped and uncapped old-age insurance, family allowances, unemployment insurance, AT/MP, FNAL, vocational training, plus the CPF-CDD contribution for fixed-term contracts), the employer AGIRC-ARRCO supplementary pension contributions (T1/T2, CEG, CET) and the employer share of any public-transport pass.
CSG and CRDS: why a 98.25% base?
CSG and CRDS are not calculated on the full gross salary but on a base reduced to 98.25% of pay, as an allowance for professional expenses, up to four times the annual social security ceiling.
Is my data stored?
No. The amounts you enter are sent to the server for the calculation only: they are not recorded, not shared with third parties, and no account is required. See our privacy policy.
